 "it sounds great .. but what is it again?"

You might be surprised how many times this is the response to investment or early adopter pitches.  We've worked with many investors and Boards over the years, and it's amazing how often this simple but critical clarity is missing.  

The problem is that we are often 'wed' to our ideas as we have already concieved them.  It's easy to imagine changing the world without appreciating the dangers of our lack of objectivity. 

It's also easier not to confront the harder questions about what our solution or product is and does, who's really going to be prepared to invest something to have it, what is the bedrock for that exchange of value, and what's going to make it 'take off'. 

Without clarity and objectivity at this level as a solid foundation for the processes you execute, you run the risk of wasting your hard work and moving too slowly.

When you are spending time and money, it feels good to be doing something tangible, producing something, and there's nothing more satisfying than building something.

Clarity is something that we must work hard to achieve and is vital to staff commitment, marketing, business strategy and transaction.

When you are working in an insular setting, alone or with a small team, it can be easy to convince ourselves and others around us that "we are clear". But our own experience and 'battle scars' have taught us that this can easily be a 'comfort blanket' wherein actual clarity remains elusive.
